What’s the Difference Between Electronic Balance and Electronic Scale?

Introduction

Electronic Balance: The balance of electromagnetic force balancing the gravity of the called object is called the electronic balance. It is characterized by accurate and reliable weighing, fast and clear display and automatic detection system, simple automatic calibration device and overload protection devices.

Electronic Scale: Electronic scales are a kind of weighing apparatus, which is a tool to measure the quality of objects by using the lever balance principle of Hooker's law or force. According to the principle of structure can be divided into mechanical scales, electronic scales, electromechanical combination scales three categories.

The Difference

As a matter of fact, it's almost the same in terms of their role, it's all weighing scales, but we can find the difference in terms of detail. There is a clear difference in the intuitive: electronic balances can be calibrated with weights, while electronic scales are not. It can be seen from the use that their difference is mainly in accuracy. The accuracy of the electronic balance is higher than that of the electronic scale. Because the internal structure of the electronic balance is relatively complicated and the precision is relatively high, the laboratory uses an electronic balance instead of an electronic scale. Therefore, we can distinguish electronic balances and electronic scales according to measurement accuracy. We call scales with a general accuracy of 1/100000 or more, such as a maximum weighing of 100 grams and an accuracy of 0.001 grams. The accuracy of the electronic scale is generally 1/3000, which means that the whole process is 3000g and the precision can reach 1g.

The sensor of the electronic balance is more complicated than the electronic scale. The electronic balance can be calibrated with a weight, but the electronic scale does not work, which also causes the accuracy of the electronic balance to be higher than that of the electronic scale. High-precision electronic balances generally use electromagnetic balance sensors with high sensitivity and stability, and the accuracy can reach 0.1mg or more. Some electronic balances use ceramic capacitive sensors with an accuracy of 1mg.

The difference between the electronic balance and the electronic scale is based on the measurement accuracy. In particular, the electronic balance can be calibrated and calibrated to improve the accuracy of the electronic balance. Through the weight calibration, the data measured by the electronic balance is the quality of the object, the electronic scale.
