According to the types of a load cell, we have different installation processes, such as shear beam load cells. Of course, it also will be influenced by the loading axis, application, environment. Thirdly, it depends on many other factors. For example, whether you are using a tension load cell or other kinds of a compression load cell. There are, however, some basic practices that greatly reduce the risk of equipment damage and mechanical error during your load cell installation.

As each load cell and application is different, it is important for you to learn exactly about how to remove and repair various load cells like industrial load cells. Please carefully check out our load cell installation tips.

The following part is our essential content to teach you precisely how to install the load cells.

1) Keep in mind that you have to refer to the load cell datasheet such as the crane load cell datasheet to ensure the correct wiring color code is used.

2) Load cells must be placed on a rigid, steady floor to keep it safe and normal to use.

3) For multi-load cell systems, all load cells must be on the same horizontal platform. And remember to use proper mounting assemblies for height compensation.

4) During mounting and loading surfaces, you should ensure the surface be clean and free from dirt and debris.

5) Loading wireless load cell surface must be vertical to the loading axis to avoid side, bending, or torsion forces to damaging it.

6) Dodge dropping or sudden impact when installing tank load cells. Related damage can result in a loss of precision, which may influence the final consequence.

7) Do not cut or lengthen the load cell cable, as load cell calibration is based on the length of the cable at the time of calibration.

8) When it is available, you should always use suitable mounts and assemblies with overload limiters and stops.

9) Load cells and systems must be protected against tipping and shifting related to vibrations, windy conditions, seismic conditions, and stability of the support structure.

10) Each load cell and the system as a whole must be properly grounded to prevent any harm so that the load cell can have longer longevity.

11) Eschew welding with load cells already installed properly. If this is unavoidable, you should place the welder ground clamp close to the required welding point to prevent sending current through the load cell body.

12) Load cells must be protected from excessive moisture. Because humid environment will greatly affect the proper function of bridge load cell. You need to use waterproof sheaths and joints to protect cables from corrosion. This does not apply to specialized submersible and water-resistant systems.

13) Whats more, protecting all system components from dust, dirt, and debris is also of great importance as any dust or dirt getting into load cells will influence the proper function.

14) Minimize the environments temperature fluctuations to avoid load cells being out of order. Make sure that load cells are operating within the compensated temperature range specified on the datasheet.
